A curated fair, not an open one

Gréoux isn’t trying to be big. The santon makers are hand-picked, and the fair has stuck to that rule for thirty-two years: fewer booths, all run by workshops that really make what they sell.

That matters more than you might think. At big fairs, you have to tell the real makers from the resellers. You can do it, but you need to ask the right questions, and we have a whole page about it: where to buy santons. At a hand-picked fair, that work has already been done for you.

Ten days around All Saints’

From October 23 to November 1, the fair covers France’s whole All Saints’ school break, weekends included. In inland Provence, that’s when people start thinking about their nativity, and because it runs ten days, it’s one of the few fall fairs you don’t have to plan your week around.

Watch the hours: it opens at 2 p.m. and closes at 6 p.m. That’s four hours a day, afternoons only. It’s the fair’s biggest catch, and the most common reason people make the trip for nothing.

It runs on almost the same dates as Grimaud’s fair, in the Var. They’re a two-hour drive apart: you can do both in a weekend, but not on the same day, given the hours.

Getting there

The Centre de Congrès l’Étoile is on avenue Pierre Brossolette, near the hot springs. Gréoux-les-Bains is a spa town with plenty of parking, so it’s one of the easiest fairs of the season to drive to, which is saying something in Provence over the All Saints’ holiday.

The season’s other fairs

Grimaud holds its fair on almost the same dates, October 24 to November 1. Sanary-sur-Mer, Serres, Vauvert, Brignoles and Saint-Nazaire also have fairs that weekend.

The full 2026 santon fair calendar lists the whole season, from September 19 to January 3, and you can sort it by month and by area.

Information checked on September 13, 2026, with the Pays de Manosque tourist office. We can’t guarantee dates or hours: a fair can be moved or canceled, and the organizer’s information is what counts. Confirm before you go.
